After a very long winter, we at the NYSMTB Series can’t wait to welcome you back to the races on June 6th at Williams Lake. While the rest of you were diligently braving the cold on your off-season training rides (or hiding under a pile of pizza boxes, binging on Law and Order reruns), the NYSMTBS elves have been busy looking for ways to up our game.
For starters, the NYSMTB Series will be run independently of USA Cycling this year. For us, this just means we will have more energy and resources to pour into our events, and an opportunity to give you a bigger bang for your buck. For the racers, it means saving some dough! With the exception of the Windham race (because it is connected to the World Cup), you will no longer need an annual or one-day USA Cycling license to compete at our events.
We are also excited to announce that all of our events will be scored with a new disposable-chip timing system. This will mean faster, more accurate results at the finish line, and faster results posting on our revamped website. We will also be posting current tallies of series points rankings on the website throughout the season.
We have more news goodies coming down the pike soon, so stay tuned and we’ll see you at Williams Lake. Keep the rubber side down, y’all!
